My name is Tracey - I'm a Practice Nurse in Hanmer Springs who has always loved crafting and finding creative ways to use fabric. I first learnt about Cartonnage when I was living in France and fell in love at once with its sustainability and its use of recycled and biodegradable materials, to say nothing of the opportunity to use some of the beautiful fabrics in my stash. I have learned much over the years from both fellow crafters and professional bookbinders and am excited to now be teaching cartonnage at weekend workshops and the exchange of skills and ideas through our Facebook group.

On my courses you will learn the basic techniques used in constructing and decorating beautiful boxes and other decorative items. Using 100% recycled 3mm grey board we will begin by making a basic box to get a feel for the materials and tools used in Cartonnage, then use those skills to make a more complex and personalized project. I really hope you will join me in this totally absorbing craft and go away inspired to make many more beautiful items.
